Katerina takes us through her life story of growing up in the waters of Greece where she became a world class spearfisherwoman, underwater target shooting champion, freediver, and scuba instructor. We hear her amazing story of founding the non-profit All For Blue organization that coordinates underwater cleanups of trash and promotes shark conservation and education. Katerina lives an inspiring life in the ocean and shares so many great perspectives and stories with us on this episode.

We hear about Pia’s work with Shark Week, diving with Shaq, and filming models underwater as part of her business, Made in Water. Pia’s perspective on the ocean environment of the Bahamas and her work capturing the scenes of this amazing area is fun and inspiring.

In episode 28 we speak with Mike Bolton, a legendary underwater photographer and shark conservationist who has spent a lifetime working to raise awareness of our ocean world. Mike shares stories from learning to dive in Panama’s pristine waters in the 60’s, becoming a competitive spearfisherman, and working to salvage treasure from historic shipwrecks. Mike relates on his transition to hunting fish with a camera to learn and protect rather than for game and his last decade of work with white sharks in the famous Guadalupe Islands of Mexico where he returns every year to lead tours and document these amazing animals. Mike’s youthful personality and humility is awesome and his stories from working with dozens of shark species are very inspiring.

In Episode 26 we speak with Shavardo Wilson, a native of the Bahamas who has built a rich life in and over the ocean. Shavardo shares his experience growing up with an ocean-focused family and finding his way as boat captain and scuba diver in this beautiful set of islands. We hear stories of sharks, shipwrecks, and finding Shavardo’s passion for drones and capturing images of his home waters from above. Shavardo also shares his perspective on changes occurring in the Bahamas over his lifetime and what it means to him to be able to enjoy this beautiful place.
